Calvin Klein today announced the hiring of Linh Peters as global chief marketing officer, a position that’s been vacant for nearly a year.

Marie Gulin-Merle stepped down from her role as Calvin Klein’s global CMO and chief digital officer for parent company PVH last November, moving over to Google where she now leads marketing for the tech giant’s Google Ads business.

In February, Calvin Klein hired J.D. Ostrow and Greg Stogdon, partners at branding agency Frosty Pop, to lead brand and marketing on an interim basis as they continued the search for Gulin-Merle’s replacement. Now, as Peters transitions into the new role, Ostrow and Stogdon will continue to work closely with the brand through Frosty Pop, which Calvin Klein has engaged as its branding agency of record.

“Linh’s expertise will enable us to continuing building on our brand strength and product positioning—reconnecting Calvin Klein’s iconic brand DNA with today’s culture and consumer,” said Calvin Klein CEO Cheryl Abel-Hodges. “I am confident that her clear consumer focus and passion for driving growth and digital innovation at scale will help position Calvin Klein for long-term success.”

Peters, who will start at Calvin Klein on Nov. 2, is currently vp of marketing at Starbucks. For almost a year, she’s been leading the coffee chain’s loyalty program and digital customer engagement, as well as brand and financial services partnerships. Before that, Peters led brand and product marketing for Starbucks for over a year and a half. She’s also held senior marketing roles at brands like Ulta, Ayo Foods and Target.
